About Oakes Farm

The Oakes Family has been involved in farming for three generations in the Corryton community. After years of growing tobacco and raising beef cattle, the Oakes began growing daylilies, a hobby which has grown into a nationwide mail-order nursery, Oakes Daylilies. Added to the Oakes family operations in 2004 is Paradise Garden which sells a wide range of specialty plants. Many of these plants are grown right here in East Tennessee. Some of the plants offered are grown by specialists in their "fields" for Paradise Garden. The Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch at Oakes Farm is the latest venture for Ken Oakes and David Black, University of Tennessee graduates and brothers-in-law. Oakes Farm was the recipient of the 2001 "Farmer of the Year" award for Knox County. It is located in the scenic Corryton community in North Knox County, on Corryton Road between Emory Road and Tazewell Pike.

2010 will be our tenth year producing a maze, and we look forward to another great year. Oakes Farm has been featured in many media stories, both regionaly and nationaly. To see some of these visit our media page. The Trail of Doom, which is the haunted corn maze, has been updated for 2010 and is headed into new territory adding a section of the trail in the dark woods. There should be more screams than ever coming from the fields this year. The Trail of Doom is open Thursday-Saturday October 1 to 23, Monday-Saturday October 25 to October 30. Pricing and more information is available at TrailofDoom.com.
